The Parish of St. Monica & St. James makes weekly donations to the Capital Area Food Bank.  The Food Bank appreciates both monetary and non-perishable food item donations.  Monetary donations are preferred because their staff can purchase triple the amount of food.

If you would like to make monatery donations, please feel free to add a check (or cash in an envelope) to the collection plate on Sundays.  Please notate that your offerings are for the Food Bank.

If you prefer to donate non-perishable food items or hygiene products, they are collected in the Upper Parish Hall, in a box noted for the Food Bank.  Items requested include include canned foods, cereal, 100% fruit juices including juice boxes, flour, brown rice, corn starch, granola or fruit bars, Mac n Cheese, nuts or pretzels; any hygiene products including diapers.

For more information, please contact Vestry member Amanda Sweet at 202-636-3503.
