Music
High Mass on Sunday is accompanied by organ and piano music. We encourage the entire congregation to sing. As part of the Liturgy we all sing the Ordinary of the Mass: Kyrie, Gloria, Sanctus and Agnus Dei. We also sing the psalm, usually to a Gregorian psalmtone, as well as the Minor Propers: Gradual, Alleluia, Offertory and Communion Antiphons. The Choirs sing a wide repertoire. At High Mass in our Parish, you might hear anything from Gregorian chant to a 16th-century anthem, a Shaker tune, or a setting of a traditional spiritual or another piece by an African-American composer. Rehearsals are as follows: -- The Anthem Choir rehearses Wednesday evenings from 7:30 to 9:30.-- The Parish Choir joins the Anthem Choir at 9:00 Sunday mornings to rehearse together before the 10:00 AM High Mass. -- The Youth Choir rehearses Sundays as part of Sunday school. Come join us! |
